The Patronat de Dames de Meritxell has been a pillar for the well-being of children, young people, and the elderly in Andorra, adapting to the community’s needs. Its legacy remains relevant, promoting inclusion and social support to build a more equitable society.

1972
FOUNDATION OF THE PATRONAT DE DAMES DE MERITXELL
This initiative was created with the aim of providing assistance and support to the most vulnerable sectors of Andorran society, with a special focus on children.
1973
FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The organizational framework of the Patronat was established, and its main objectives were defined, including promoting and carrying out all kinds of social and charitable activities.
1978
CREATION OF THE DAMES DE MERITXELL NURSERY SCHOOL
A resource that was completely absent in Andorra at the time. This space was established to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children, promoting their overall development and emotional well-being, thanks to the donation of land by Mrs. Carme Maestre de Cal Molines, as well as the financial support of the Muy Ilustre Consejo General and the Andorra Social Security Fund.
1990
CELEBRATION OF THE 18TH ANNIVERSARY
This event is commemorated with a gathering of members and supporters, highlighting the achievements made in improving the living conditions of children and families in Andorra.
1991
INAUGURATION OF THE FIRST AFTER-SCHOOL CENTER
The Centre d'Infants el Dau became an essential support pillar for Andorran families for over 25 years, offering services that complemented formal education and addressed the developmental needs of young children. The center ceased its activities in 2013 due to financial difficulties that hindered its operation.
2000
TRAINING AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Workshops and activities were introduced aimed at developing skills for young people and providing resources to improve the quality of life for older adults.
2005
EXPANSION OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
Offered by the Patronat de les Dames de Meritxell to reach a larger number of people in need within the community.
2010
CELEBRATION OF THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY
This event is commemorated with special activities highlighting the social and community impact of the Patronat over four decades.
2012
LAUNCH OF THE FENT CAMÍ PROJECT
In partnership with the El Cedre Socio-Healthcare Centre and the Dames de Meritxell Nursery School, this initiative recognizes the evolving needs of the community and expands its mission to include programs dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults.
2016
NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS
A new Board of Directors is established, with Cristina Cerqueda assuming the leadership and continuing the objectives and guidelines of the previous administration.
2019
SIGNING OF THE COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH MORABANC
The Patronat joins MoraBanc’s Targeta Solidària program.
2020
ADAPTING TO NEW SOCIAL CHALLENGES
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Patronat implemented measures to continue supporting beneficiaries through virtual means and adaptations to its programs.

STRENGTHENING ALLIANCES WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
This initiative was created with the aim of providing assistance and support to the most vulnerable sectors of Andorran society, with a special focus on children.

CELEBRATION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Commemorative events and activities are organized to reflect on the Patronat’s journey, highlighting its influence on Andorran society and its ongoing commitment.
2024
GOVERNMENTAL RECOGNITION
The Patronat receives an award for its work promoting gender equality, reaffirming its position as a leading advocate for women’s rights in Andorra.
2025
SERVIR AWARD FROM THE ROTARY CLUB OF ANDORRA
Recognition for volunteer actions carried out for the benefit of others.
